Would organisers of points competitions note that there is an error in the rink ice markings for points competitions on sheets 2, 4 and 6. This only relates to the second discipline (“Inwick”) where the ring on the edge of the four foot circle (the red circle) has been incorrectly aligned. This makes a considerable difference to the difficulty of the shot. It is however easily corrected when playing.
The correction is to place the outer target stone with its inner edge touching the outside of the four foot circle as before, but its front edge just touching the rear of the ring marked on the ice instead of placed on the ring. This will place the stone exactly where it is meant to be. This may seem awkward or difficult in writing but becomes very clear when read looking at the head on the rink. We will try to get a diagram prepared to make it even clearer. Note that sheets 1, 3 and 5 are unaffected (and may be looked at to see the difference in placement of the ring in question).
